This powerup can be a doozy if you know how to use it correctly! You can do more than dung a key square to prevent your opponent from landing on it.
Block Portals and Make Them Go Around and Around and Around….
As you can see, this Meerca needs the red key and is only four spaces away from freedom. Sure you could dung him right on the key square but you’re only postponing the inevitable. He will get his red key next turn unless you lint ball him or a random event moves him. But if you dung the portal, he’ll get his key but you’re buying time because he has to go around again and run the risk of landing on a non-alignment. If you dung the portal that’s only four spaces away from him, he’ll stop right before and be able to use it next turn so that’s no good. Instead, dung the other portal because it renders the portal closer to him useless!
Change His Direction
As you can see, the game just started and Bruce just wants to get his green key. Well we’ve got different plans for him don’t we!! Notice where the dung bomb is placed – right where he needs to be and it causes him to turn down the other path.
Even if he lands on the treasure square, he won’t get a prize because he doesn’t have a key yet. And if he takes the portal and gets the white key, he’s still wasting time because he has to make another turn to get the green key (unless he rolls exactly what’s needed to get him to the treasure square) and that buys more time for you. Not to mention he has more than one chance to land on a non-alignment square!
Don’t put the dung bomb in your pathway. If your opponent is near you, make sure you’re not going in the same direction he is going lest you dung yourself and your opponent laughs at you.
UPDATE: Thank you sammiami13 for submitting a cleverly diabolical strategy in dungbombdom! You have won a Key Quest Diabolical Award!!! Here is his strategy:
If you are lint balled and you need that key a couple of spaces in front of you, then dung bomb yourself just before you land on the key! You can do this with Gummy Dice as well.
Thank you Sammiami13!!!!!!!
UPDATE: Submitted by Pandagirl1337:
Another diabolical thing to do with the dung is if you both have 5 keys or even if only your opponent does, and he’s close to the door, place a pile of dung directly on the door. Voila, he must go around again!
Thank you Panda!!! 🙂
